The Big Blow-Up

(A Collective Breath Experiment)

This one-night installation was made during a residency at the Salina Art Center. Community members inflated handmade paper boxes with breath and then assembled them on strings spanning the space.

The suspended collection of captured puffs of air was illuminated by lights and viewed from the street outside.
