Seasonal
My work in printmaking and paper installations invites viewers to share an experience of particular physical places that are freighted with uncanny memory and conjure up a powerful sense of place. I’m especially drawn to spaces that hold the memory of an event or time, spaces that are imagined, remembered, emptied-out, or waiting-to-be-filled: a fair ground for an annual festival, a drive-in movie screen in winter, or a ski lift in summer. These small drawings describe the street fairs I encountered during a summer of travel between Salina, Kansas, my home in Maine, my hometown in Pennsylvania, and Almería, Spain.
